This carved alabaster panel once decorated an interior wall of the palace of King Ashurnasirpall II. These panels were once painted using paints made from the available elements of the day. In this activity the user is asked to examine the surface of the panel and determine what elements residues remain and then repaint the figure to restore its historical appearance.
